We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Administrator to support a client environment in Jersey City, New Jersey.  This is a full-time, on-site position supporting a client contract and offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of enterprise physical security technologies.

About the Role

The Security Systems Administrator will provide day-to-day administration, coordination, maintenance support, and technical oversight for client-owned security systems and applications.

Working under the direction of the client's Security Systems Manager, this individual will collaborate with client personnel, maintenance contractors, technology vendors, and other stakeholders to help ensure security systems remain operational, properly maintained, patched, and secure.

The ideal candidate combines Windows Server/system administration experience with an understanding of physical security technologies, networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administration and technical support for client-owned physical security systems and applications
  • Coordinate routine and scheduled system maintenance with the client's maintenance contractors and technology vendors
  • Coordinate system patching, updates, and reboot schedules while minimizing operational disruption
  • Work with the client and maintenance contractors to identify, track, and remediate system vulnerabilities
  • Troubleshoot system and application issues and coordinate resolution with applicable manufacturers, vendors, and support partners
  • Assist with maintaining system configurations, documentation, inventories, maintenance records, and other technical information
  • Work with client stakeholders to develop and maintain a responsibility matrix for security applications across facilities throughout the New York/New Jersey area
  • Assist with updating and maintaining the client's Security Systems Plan for applicable security applications
  • Coordinate activities among internal stakeholders, maintenance contractors, and system vendors
  • Support system availability, cybersecurity, lifecycle management, and operational readiness
  • Participate in on-call support as needed

Systems & Technologies Supported

The Security Systems Administrator may provide administration and coordination support for systems including:

  • Avigilon CCTV
  • Genetec CCTV
  • Alutel handheld card readers
  • HID SAFE badging application
  • BriefCam video analytics
  • Rapiscan X-ray and secondary screening systems
  • Barco video wall systems supporting HUB, VSC, and SACC environments
  • ELSAG license plate recognition (LPR) systems
  • UVeye under-vehicle surveillance systems
  • Chemring under-vehicle surveillance systems

Direct experience with every listed platform is not required.  Experience administering comparable enterprise security, video surveillance, access control, screening, or security-management systems is valuable.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Windows Server administration experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications and troubleshooting technical issues in a production environment
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts, user/access management, system patching, vulnerability remediation, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with customers, vendors, contractors, and technical teams
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while following client procedures and change-management requirements
  • Ability to reliably commute to the client site in Jersey City, NJ 07310 - this is an on-site position and is not remote
  • Ability to participate in on-call support as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of VMware experience
  • 1+ year of Linux administration experience
  • 2+ years of cybersecurity experience
  • Experience with physical security systems, including CCTV/video management, access control, badging, video analytics, screening, or surveillance technologies
  • Experience with Avigilon, Genetec, HID SAFE, BriefCam, or similar enterprise security platforms
  • Cisco certification or equivalent networking experience
  • Experience working in government, transportation, critical infrastructure, or other security-sensitive environments
  • Current or prior Confidential security clearance, if applicable to the client requirement

Work Environment

  • Full-time position supporting a client contract
  • Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Eight-hour day shift
  • On-site at the client location in Jersey City, New Jersey
  • Occasional on-call support may be required
  • Some coordination with client facilities and stakeholders throughout the New York/New Jersey area may be required
