As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.  You will work closely with our clients, project teams, and subcontractors to coordinate project activities, mitigate risks, and achieve project objectives while maintaining strict adherence to contractual requirements, company standards, and government regulations.

Job Details
Responsibilities

  • Manage, oversee and coordinate all field activities for various types of projects, including large and complex or multi-phased projects, from deployment through completion and sign-off
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports or approvals
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential project risks and collaborate to develop/implement strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines
  • Proactively communicate project status, schedules, change proposals, change orders and related project activities on a regular basis with Operations Team and customer as directed
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials, supplies, services, and controls necessary for timely and cost-effective completion of project within budget
  • Ensure project milestones are achieved; identify risks and develop mitigation strategies; adjust or correct project plan and/or project cost estimates as necessary to meet schedule and financial goals
  • Understand and manage the scope of work and terms and conditions in customer contracts, including cost control, delivery fulfillment, quality of service and other customer requirements
  • Perform field managerial duties including but not limited to observing, assessing, and reporting on progress and performance of assigned project personnel and subcontractors

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of project supervisory experience required
  • Minimum of eight years of previous relevant installations, field service, project management or engineering experience with US government contracts or operations preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: Construction, logistics, low-voltage or wireless communications, electrical, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus; project-specific industry certifications and/or licenses required
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Expert organizational and project management skills including cost control and financial analysis
  • Technical aptitude in subject matter area a huge plus (construction, electronic security/fire alarm systems, network/IT, wireless or other communications systems)
  • Leadership, mentoring, and staff development skills - Act as a role model and leader for assigned teams and ensure all team members are treated fairly and provided growth opportunities
  • Adaptability to respond effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build collaborative work environment for customer, stakeholders, and team members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with schedule/Gantt chart review and analysis
  • Provision and tracking of on-the-job training and coordination for vendor-based training to all contractors (Safety, QA, etc.) or customers as required

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to walk up to a mile without physical distress and climb stairs
  • Frequent prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, twisting, reaching, and climbing  
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus 
  • Occasionally, the colleague may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders 
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear; use hands to handle or touch objects or controls 
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds 
Work Environment 
  • This is an office-based position which requires regular work-related travel and visits to work sites in the field; site conditions will vary
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions from above 100oF to below 0oF and exposed to various climates and conditions
  • May require work in confined spaces
  • Risk of electrical shock and/or radiation may be present
  • Protective equipment, including hard hats and other PPE, may be required for on-site visits and project walk-throughs; PPE provided by VIRSIG
